Travel Tip: Big Yachts Give Small Cruise Experience
Ever dreamed of sailing on a yacht? Well, you don’t have to go out and buy your own boat to make that a reality.
While some cruise ships are getting bigger, others focus on smaller, more intimate settings, so the experience is like sailing on a yacht with friends.
Crystal Cruises is expanding its portfolio with the new Crystal Esprit yacht. It holds 62 passengers, includes all your meals and drinks, and even has an onboard marina where you can set go water skiing, kayaking, or jet skiing.
Windstar Cruises has a fleet of six ships, three of which are sailing yachts. They’re so small they can reach harbors that the bigger ships can’t, and the price includes free shore excursions.
Seabourn Cruise Line currently has three ships—with a new one embarking next year—which sail to the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
These cruises tend to be pricier than the bigger ships, but you won’t get nickel and dimed at every turn.
