Admit it, you take a million smartphone pictures when you travel. Well, there are some creative things you can do to your photos with the right photo apps.

You want to start with a quality shot, which means using more than your basic phone camera.

An app called VSCO Cam has some useful tools to crop, add filters, and adjust the saturation. An even more powerful app is Polarr, which lets you make your own filters.

Specialized lighting apps can also improve the look.

Lenslight creates a lighting effect and Cortex Camera can rescue pictures taken in low light.

If you want to get more inventive, try the Flipagram app. It creates photo montages set to music to make your own shareable mini videos.

Both Crossroads and Cluster are cool options that let multiple people collaborate on an album, which is then posted privately in your network.
