It’s going to a big summer for…sharks? That’s right, not only is Shark Week around the corner, but we’re also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the movie Jaws.
This September, you can head to Port Lincoln in South Australia for an encounter with great white sharks.
It’s being led by Rodney Fox, a famous shark-attack survivor. He’ll not only take you to his favorite spots where you can dive with sharks, but he’ll show you some areas where he set up scenes for the filming of Jaws.
The Bimini Bull Run in the Bahamas is an excursion for almost anyone, no certification necessary. You can cage dive with the bull sharks that swim directly into fish-cleaning stations in the marina.
Even here in the U.S., you can dive with great whites off San Francisco’s Farallon Islands, without certification. But if you’d rather stay out of the water, you can watch the action from the deck.
However, there are no bonus points for anyone who says, “You’re going to need a bigger boat.”
