Travel Tip: Best New Laptops for Travelers

Laptop Typing Web Sitetoshiba-satellite-laptopYou might think that between smartphones, tablets, and wearable technology, laptops are on their way out. Not so fast.

Computer manufacturers are still in the game, and even though laptops are getting thinner and lighter, they continue to have a lot of functionality.

Dell has come out with the XPS 13, which starts at $800 and weighs less than 3 pounds. A high-powered chip means a long battery life and the touch screen has a full HD display.

The Lenovo Yoga is sort of a hybrid between a laptop and a tablet. It’s only about 8 inches and you can flip the keyboard into different positions.

But what’s really cool is a technology called AnyPen—meaning you can actually write on the screen with an actual pen or pencil.

Acer has a new 17-inch notebook that has a 3D camera, and the first 15.6-inch Chromebook that weighs less than 5 pounds.

But don’t worry, Apple fans. There’s been talk of a new 12-inch Retina MacBook Air that’s thinner than ever. So stay tuned for more on the best new laptops.
