Peter Greenberg Worldwide–SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino–January 17, 2015

Locations in this article:  Las Vegas, NV

sls las vegasThis week, Peter Greenberg Worldwide broadcasts from the new SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. It’s newly named, and completely renovated, but it’s actually the former Sahara Hotel and Casino, a place filled with history–and more than a few legends. Considered the last of the Rat Pack hotels, this site hosted performers such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin, and Judy Garland (just to name a few). After closing in 2011, the SLS Hotel took over the building in 2013 and undertook massive renovations.

Joining us at the newly reopened spot is Howard Stutz of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He talks about the history of the property and how a few new legends, such as Lenny Kravitz, are leaving their mark on the hotel in unique ways. We also speak with Scott McCartney, who reports on the unmentionable — how commercial planes get dirty every time they fly, who are the guilty parties, and how there is a lack of regulation for maintaining cleanliness on planes. Then, Joe Brancatelli of JoeSentMe.com tells us why even though fuel prices are dropping, passengers wont see lower airline ticket prices. All of this and more on this week’s broadcast of Peter Greenberg Worldwide from the SLS Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
