Travel Tip: Portable Gadgets for Your Camera
Taking photos when you travel is a time-honored tradition. Now there are some new gadgets for your camera that can upgrade even the most basic devices.
Maybe you missed the memo that 2014 was the Year of the Selfie.
To catch up, you may want to invest in what’s known as a “selfie stick.” It’s an extendable stick that connects to your smartphone.
You can aim the camera at yourself and take the photo using buttons on the stick.
It’s a no-brainer that professional photographers use tripods to get a steady picture. But you don’t have to invest in expensive or oversized gear to get a straight shot.
Gorillapod makes a really tiny, flexible stand that you can attach to a smartphone. It’s so small it can fit in your pocket.
Manfrotto, which makes professional-grade tripods, also has miniature versions for less than $30.
But if you really want a quality picture, look for a lens that you can attach to your smartphone. The Olloclip is tiny and can take four styles of photos with your phone’s front and back camera.
