There’s an important anniversary coming up and some very meaningful ways to celebrate it.

I’m talking about the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

On the weekend of November 9, there will be a special light installation set up along the Wall’s former path, including the famous Checkpoint Charlie.

You can also get some history through a guided bike tour of the Berlin Wall Trail.

In honor of the anniversary, Air Berlin has deals between now and mid-December, and again after the holidays to mid-March.

Not planning to travel to Europe this year? There’s a cool exhibit at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. It’s got the largest display of the original wall outside of Germany, and an actual East German guard tower.

Pieces of the wall are also on display at presidential libraries, including the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.

While this isn’t the most, er, respectful way to see the wall…a piece of it has lived in Las Vegas for over 20 years. It’s at the Main Street Station Casino…in the men’s bathroom. You know what? Forget I even said that.
