Eye on Travel

Peter Greenberg Worldwide–Redding, California–August 9, 2014

Redding2This week I’m broadcasting from Redding, California. It’s a city two hours south of the Oregon border but light years away from San Francisco or Los Angeles in terms of its style and culture. It’s a city with a small town feel and a hub for all of those in the Shasta Cascade region. It’s also a mecca for all things outdoors — hiking, biking, boating, climbing and even walking.

Redding Historian Doni Chamberlain and State Park Superintendent Lori Martin will be on the show this week to discuss the community rich history of Redding. I’ll also talk to Fire Chief Gerry Gray about some hidden spots in Redding and why I love the small Redding airport — and it’s not just about the planes. It’s about an unexpected restaurant in the terminal. All that and more, when we travel to the ‘real’ Northern California town of Redding.
