After relocating to Denver from New York in 2007, Sam Kopicko and Chia Basinger noticed that while their popular neighborhood was full of eccentric hot spots, there was no proper ice cream shop.
Given their love of making ice cream at home, the pair decided to open their own store, and Sweet Action Ice Cream was born in 2009.
Sweet Action Ice Cream offers intriguing flavors such as Dragonfruit, Huckleberry, Red Velvet, Earl Grey, and Buttered Popcorn.
One of the local favorites is Stranahan’s Whiskey Brickle, which is made from whiskey brewed at the nearby Stranahan’s distillery. They have also been known to make ice cream with beer from local breweries like Breckenridge, Great Divide, and Fresh Craft breweries, among others.
There are also vegan selections, such as Vegan Lemon Poppyseed, Chai, and Iced Tea Lemon Sorbet.
