Daily Deal: Celebrate Crab Week at the Chesapeake Bay

CHESAPEAKEEach year, the citizens of Chesapeake Bay in Maryland honor the native Blue Crabs. This tradition goes back several years and many restaurants and local businesses honor the occasion. This year, the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort will be celebrating the Fifth Annual Crab Week, allowing guests the opportunity to participate in many crab-related festivities from August 15 to 29.

Guests can enjoy a variety of crab-themed activities during this two-week period. The food truck Feelin’ Crabby will be serving a variety of crab-related treats for guests. There are also activities: You can learn to catch, crack, and cook crabs during daily demos. Afterward, you can savor daily crab specials and crab pairings.

After the activities at the truck have wrapped, you can try your hand at The River Marsh Golf Club’s Crabby Cup, a nine-hole golf tournament. This year, author and illustrator Chris Raschka will give a special reading of his children’s book, “Crabby Crab.” Little Spongebob Squarepants fans take advantage of an arts and crafts event at Krusty Krab’s Kreative Korner. Kids can also enjoy marine animal pool races and other crab-inspired games.

As part of the Sunshine on Sale package, you can book two nights and get a third night free. Guests will also get to enjoy complimentary breakfast for two each day.
