Perhaps the best feature of Madison’s Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Co. is the wide variety of dietary options.
Just about anyone can find a flavor free of soy, dairy, nuts, eggs, gluten, or additional sugar, and such requests are not limited to one or two flavors.
Better still is the wide variety of choices in flavor.
Sorbets and sherbets include classics like Orange and Lemon, but also feature Carrot Mango, Cherry, and Watermelon.
The ice cream flavors consist of favorites such as Cherry Amaretto, Espresso, and Cookie Dough.
But if you’re looking for something a little more unusual, the Shoppe also offers Blueberry Cheesecake, Black Licorice, Spumoni, and Blue Moon, a flavor the Shoppe compares to “the milk at the bottom of the Fruit Loops bowl.”
For a twist, try Dark Side of the Moon—a blend of Blue Moon and Zanzibar chocolate.
The Chocolate Shoppe’s website even allows patrons to investigate the ingredients and nutrition facts beforehand to ensure they feel comfortable knowing they can get what they need.
The Shoppe has remained a family business since opening its doors in 1962, and currently has four locations in the city of Madison.
