Eye on Travel

Peter Greenberg Worldwide – Hainan Island, China – May 24, 2014

WTTC-Master_RGBLogoOdds are, you’ve probably never heard of this week’s radio broadcast location: Haitang Bay, on Hainan Island.

Hainan is in the South China Sea and, in fact, it’s China’s southernmost province. It’s so far south that it’s actually closer to Vietnam than it is to China.

This week’s show airs from the World Travel and Tourism Council‘s yearly global summit, and once you hear about the explosion of Chinese travel, you won’t be surprised to learn that the WTTC has been in China three times in the five years.

Peter sits down with some of the most influential names in the travel industry today to discuss the future of travel, this year’s hottest hotel openings, and why technology should never take precedence over common sense — and why many hate new trends like automated check-in kiosks in hotel lobbies. And that’s just for starters, when Peter Greenberg Worldwide comes to you from the WTTC on Hainan Island, China.
