The Best Airport Hotels to Book if You’re Stuck in the Storm

As JetBlue and other airlines continue to suspend flights due to the extreme cold, more and more travelers across the country are being left stranded at the airport. No traveler would ever willingly choose to stay by the airport, right? Wrong. Times have changed. Starting in Asia and the Middle East, five-star airport hotels have become standard. In the U.S., there are a few airport hotel options worth noting.

Intercontinental Chicago O’Hare

Hyatt Dulles at Dulles International Airport


Step outside the cold and into the hot tub. Just 1.4 miles from Dulles International Airport, the Hyatt Dulles has several amenities including a 24-hour fitness center, indoor pool and hot tub.  Plus if you’re still stranded tomorrow, remember that the lobby bar also offers daily happy hour. Ames Boston Hotel


You can get out and enjoy Boston at the Ames Boston hotel.  Just 2.1 miles from Logan, the hotel is also accessible to Boston’s major business sectors. It’s your best Boston option at the moment, where current standard queen rooms are nearly half the price of other hotels neighboring Logan. Rates stills start at a steep $352.

Hilton New York JFK Airport Hotel


Right now, you’ll pay a premium for a New York Airport hotel. In the last, three days 8,000 flights were canceled in New York area airport. Less than 2 miles from JFK, you can rely on the Hilton New York JFK Airport Hotel. You’ll find clean rooms and perks like an indoor pool.  The bad news is that current availability is going fast, with king suites starting at $578
