midnightbaseballPeople that say Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps haven’t been to Anchorage in the summer. Thanks to being situated above the 60th parallel, Alaska experiences up to 22 hours of daylight in June.

What better way to take advantage of the midnight sun than participating in America’s favorite pastime? Baseball. The Glacier Pilots are a college summer baseball team that has been around for over 40 years. In that time they have helped over 160 players go on to the major leagues, including be names like Mark McGwire. The team’s success may be due to being able to train at just about any time of day or night And you can join them well into the wee hours. Games stretch until 1 am. It’s easy to get tickets and if you’re lucky, you just might be able to get on the field.

Watch as Peter meets the team and see if he has what it takes to hit one out of the park in a game of midnight baseball.
