Passengers at JFK waited an average of almost four and a half hours to be processed last December. Over the year, more than 180,000 passengers waited at least two hours. On average, wait times were never shorter than 30 minutes. One one occasion, a journalist landed in JFK at 10pm and didn’t reach his hotel until after 3 am. He waited four hours at primary inspection. The airport expects to see 13.8 million more people coming through their terminals by 2021.
