The airport is surrounded by bushland that has become a popular hangout spot for kangaroos. One kangaroo, who has since been named Cyrus, was hit by a vehicle just outside the terminal.
The injured kangaroo in airport hopped his way to the second-floor pharmacy, presumably looking for help.
His appearance temporarily shut down the Qantas terminal. An apt choice since Qantas’ mascot is the kangaroo and it’s known as the “Flying Kangaroo.”
The video of Cyrus stumbling through the airport has since gone viral. But rest assured, the ‘roo is now in good hands. Wildlife Victoria sent in volunteers to help. In fact, Cyrus was named for one of his rescuers. He has been seen by a veterinarian and is now recovering at a wildlife shelter.
