Eye on Travel

Peter Greenberg Worldwide–Anchorage, Alaska–July 20, 2013

Locations in this article:  Anchorage, AK

Whether it’s salmon fishing near Ketchikan at the waterfall resort or over in Yes Bay, helicoptering up to the Mendenhall glacier near Juneau, or hanging out in Seward, Alaska has always had a magical, almost mystical appeal.

Often forgotten is Anchorage, which many people mistake for the capital city. Whether it’s a floatplane from Lake Hood right next to the Anchorage airport, kayaking in Lake Eklutna, playing (or watching) some late-night baseball (remember, it stays light late) or just doing the weekend market downtown, Anchorage is a city often overlooked but it is full of great surprises. Check out Peter’s most recent broadcast from the Millennium Alaskan Hotel.
