Travel Tip: Spiritual Places in Travel Spaces

Locations in this article:  Albuquerque, NM Dallas, TX San Francisco, CA

Sticking to spiritual practices and routines while traveling can be challenging.  For those of you who need a prayer space or a meditation room, rest assured that spiritual places are appearing all over the travel spectrum.

Saudi Arabian Airlines actually has its own prayer room on the plane. And once you get there, the airport has an enormous mosque that fits up to 5,000 worshipers—in fact, it’s the first place you see when you exit the arrivals area.

Munich Airport opened its prayer room just a couple of years ago, because it’s a gateway for airlines such as Emirates, Etihad and Oman.

Here in the U.S., most airports have chapels that welcome everyone and JFK opened a synagogue inside the airport back in 1958.

Sometimes you just need a place to decompress. San Francisco International recently opened its own yoga room, along with airports in Dallas and Burlington, Vermont.

And there are meditation rooms in airports around the world: from Albuquerque to Helsinki.
