4. Stahlstown Flax Scutching Festival

Every year in September, descendants of Ligonier Valley, PA gather to demonstrate the centuries-old tradition of making linen from the flax plant. Step back in time to see the complete process of scutching, in addition to antique farm equipment, live music, a Civil War encampment, a covered wagon train encampment, and even a staged Indian raid.
