OK, so your tablets and e-readers have become your primary entertainment systems on the road. But it’s not always convenient to hold them or prop them up so you can actually SEE the screen.
The good news is, if your device doesn’t come with its own stand, there are some helpful third-party solutions out there. Best of all, they work on different types of tablets, so you’re not dealing with any special hardware.
A company called Octa makes a two-piece product that stays on with vacuum-sealed doc. The second piece is called a Whale Tail stand that clips in, and lets you bend and rotate the device at any angle.
It’s especially handy when you’re placing your tablet on a desk or an airplane tray table. Arkon makes a portable fold-up stand that works with any number of devices—iPads, Kindle, Nook, you name it. The cool thing is, it works even if your tablet already has a case or a covering.
And if you’re shopping for stocking stuffers, just take a look at a website called ThinkGeek. These guys always have something for the geeked-out traveler—including tablet stands and even a tripod for your smartphone also doubles as a Swiss Army-style knife. You can’t make this stuff up.
