4. The Indian Rope Trick

This picture was taken in India,  where Cohen traveled in search of a performer who could show him the legendary Indian rope trick. In Kathputli, outside of Delhi, he found Ishamuddin, the one man alive who can perform the act.

Ishamuddin lives in a colony of street performers that practice magic, juggling, snake charming, fire breathing, puppetry, and dance. But don’t expect to to see this one every day. The rope trick is a rare performance only done in special festivals.

The trick involves a standard 20-foot long rope, similar to the rope you would use to secure a boat to a dock. Ishamuddin then levitates the rope 20-feet up in the air and his son, Aman climbs up to the top of the rope suspended up in the air.
