Travel Tip: Try These Healthy, Low-Calorie Hotel Meals

Even_hotelsIn the old days, eating at a hotel meant one of two things: ordering overpriced room service or raiding the minibar. Both were laden with calories. But, these aren’t the only options anymore.

InterContinental has a new hotel brand called Even Hotels opening this year, and its whole focus is health and wellness. Even Hotels will have healthier grab ‘n’ go hotel meals, and will cater to different dietary needs: gluten free, vegetarian…you get the picture. Each room will also come with a workout space.

Hyatt has a brand-wise initiative to offer more sustainable and health-conscious food in its hotels. Even the children’s menu has better choices, with dishes that were actually kid-tested and approved.

The mini-bars at Kimpton Hotels have always offered healthier options. But now the in-room menu has a whole variety of meals that are less than 500 calories. But trust me, these guys are all about chef-driven restaurants…so you know it’s good.

In Westin Hotels, they’ll actually loan you a pair of sneakers and workout clothes so you don’t have to weigh down your suitcase with all that gear. So, no more excuses.
