Travel Deals: Rethink Fall Travel & Save

Summer is winding down and it’s time to rethink fall travel. Fall is not just that season where you see foliage and count the days until a winter vacation. Instead, this is the time to get out there and travel. Plan a beach vacation or a romantic trip for February and you’re at peak season–not so in fall.

Trust us, if you hit the road now, you will save. You’ll even save if you just book in September. Whether you’re a young couple looking for a romantic getaway or a retiree looking for some back-to-school savings, we’re rounded up all the deals out there this week to suit your needs.

Senior Savings

Grandparent’s Day is September 9, and in honor of grandparents everywhere Elite Island Resorts is offering deals on their all-inclusive Caribbean vacations. “Fall” In Love All Over Again

Couples are being courted in this fall travel deal. Grab your significant other and book at least a two-night stay at any of the 18 hotels included in the offer and get a minimum $50 Hotel Credit. Some locations offer more than just the credit, so be sure to check them out before you book. The Buena Vista Palace Hotel & Spa in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando has rooms starting at $99 per night and is offering a wine amenity at check-in, a $75 dinner for two and a spa discount. This offer is mirrored by many of the hotels participating in the offer, but if you are looking to go a littler farther afield, the Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa in Montego Bay, Jamaica, offers all-inclusive rates starting at $254 per night.  The deal is available from August 30 through December 15. Cruise in Hawaii

If you were thinking of cruising through the Aloha State, this limited time offer could be right up your alley.  Norwegian Cruise Lines is having a three-day sale from, August 30, through September 1.  Booking a stateroom on the Pride of America for a seven-day cruise will get you $100 in onboard credit. The cruise will visit four islands and offers a number of activities.  You can snorkel, whale watch, go for a hike, or just see how long it takes you to drink $100 worth of Mai Tais. Thinking Ahead

Sometimes making your travel plans early can net you some serious savings.  Delta Vacations is offering a sale for those of you who like to plan ahead and want to visit Mexico, the Caribbean, or Costa Rica.  If you make reservations by September 30 for a trip you plan to take between December 23, 2012 and April 30, 2013, you could get up to 65 percent off on the hotel portion of your vacation.  To check out the hotels or book your trip, check out their website.

Sunshine State Savings

With the summer vacation peak tapering off, hotels in Florida are looking for ways to get your business.  The Westin Beach Resort and Spa and the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel are offering rates starting at $169 per night at the Westin and $139 per night at the Sheraton through October 31. If you are looking to head south before Halloween you could be saving as much as 40 percent off the peak season rates.  Activities you can partake of in the area include airboat rides through the Everglades and sandy beaches.  Go online for more information on the Westin and the Sheraton.
