5. Mormon Tabernacle, Salt Lake City, Utah
Home of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, this historical building in Temple Square was built to house meetings for the corporate church as a whole. The semi-annual meetings were held in the Tabernacle for 132 years until 2000 when the meetings outgrew the facility and were moved to the LDS Conference Center, which is also in Salt Lake City. One of the focal points of the tabernacle is its organ, one of the largest in the world, which travelers can enjoy at noon recitals daily. Free tours of Temple Square, the 35-acre area that includes the Mormon Tabernacle, are available from 9 am-9 pm daily.
