Farmers markets are at their prime right now, but regardless of the season Peter always makes a point to seek out the local food markets. Not only do you find fresh, healthy food, but you also get to interact with the locals. It’s one of the best ways to get insider info and a great meal at the same time.

1. Dane County Farmers’ Market On Square, Madison, Wisconsin

Do you know where the largest produce-only farmers market in the country is located? It’s not New York or the Napa Valley. Turns out it’s in Madison, Wisconsin and it’s also one of the few midwestern farmers markets that remains open year-round. Not only is this where you can buy produce grown from area farms, but it’s the best place to sample Wisconsin’s famous cheeses.
