Tokyo doesn’t do anything small and Jimbocho Book Town is no exception. This massive emporium, centered around the Jimbocho Station–thought to have the highest concentration of bookstores in the world–consists of approximately 200 individual shops. Browsing through Jimbocho will give you a glimpse into a culture that is obsessed with both consumer goods and accumulating things. Books of all genres are piled up to the roof and spill from the narrow bustling alleyways into the corridors and onto the pavement.
