Your family has been front and center during December so January and especially February is ideal for couple time.

From January 1 through February 29, 2012, Yountville in California’s Napa Valley invites you to the annual Moveable Feast program. Many of the restaurants, wineries and hotels in the town offer special packages including prix-fixe menus, wine tastings and travel packages. For more information visit the town’s website.

Florida is also the perfect icy winter getaway. One option is the LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort on the Gulf Coast in Naples, which is offering their Frostbite Relief Package through April 30, 2012. They are also including a $50 per night resort credit, deluxe accommodations and complimentary resort fee.

Family Breaks

If you don’t want to leave the kids in the freezing cold, The Veranda, in Turks & Caicos’ has an all-inclusive family option. The resort includes round-trip airport transfers, all meals and beverages (including premium alcohol), afternoon tea, concierge and personal butler service. There’s even an in-room chef, who takes care of groceries. Plus between now and March 8, the resort is offering a $200 air credit per booking for guests in select room categories. Another family beach option is the Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. The hotel is super kid friendly with their Tortuga Kids Program, which has activities like mini-golf puppet making, volcanic rock hunt & painting on property. Families can also rainforest trekking, white water rafting, surfing, ziplining, volcano hiking and nature watching together. This winter the Escape! Family Eco-Cation (use promo code ARN at booking) includes accommodations for two adults and two children, breakfast, daily tours and more. Plus, a Tonka Bean Tree will be planted in your family’s name to help reinstate the scarlet macaw into its habitat.

In Arizona, the Four Seasons Scottsdale has their complimentary Kids for All Seasons program, which allows mom and dad alone time while youngsters and teens are kept busy day and night. Children are given a resort passport that entitles them to special prizes. Plus, they’ll hang out in their own movie theatre and game room with Rock band, Halo3 games, X-Box 360’s, Wii and more. The whole family is invited to complimentary events like stargazing, family hikes, nature walks, croquet, bean bag toss, bocce ball and chocolate tasting in the pastry kitchen. This winter, the Experience More package offers a $100 resort credit with every two paid consecutive nights.
