Contributor Roy Berger’s Yankees’ Fantasy baseball camp adventures are drawing to a close. See what lessons he learned on and off the field and if he plans on suiting up again next year.

Saturday was final day of 2012 Yankee Winter Fantasy Camp and with the league play now concluded all that remains is the Legend’s Game when the campers get to take on the guys that once upon a time wore the pinstripes for real and got paid instead of having to pay for the experience.

Order of play was drawn by lot and our red-hot three wins in four games team- the Pinstripes-drew the fifth of eight games on the day.

The rules are pretty simple; it’s a two inning game where the campers get six outs per inning and the real Yankees get three. With 12 guys on a side, everyone will get to hit at least once.

There’s one other rule: the Yankees hate to get scored on.

BarryO and I arrive at Steinbrenner Field during the first game of the day and instead of going into the clubhouse to change to our blue away shirts we went down the dugout runway to take in the sights.

On the field with the sun shining in glorious pinstripes were the likes of Downing, Dent, Wells, Tiant, Rivers, Torrez, Gamble, Blomberg, Bush, Gibbs, Nelson, White, Blair, and Hernandez. Someone throw cold water on me please and wake me from this dream.

Like everything else this week, the Yankee camp staff did this day right too.
