Travel Tip: Travel Like a Spy

You’ve seen it in the movies, but what if you could crack the code of top-secret agents?

Step one: head to Washington, D.C. Yes, our capital is home to the closed-off FBI and the CIA, but anyone can enter the International Spy Museum.

Taking its inspiration from the Cold War, the museum highlights spy tactics and gadgets from when tensions between the U.S and Russia were at their highest. Check out some of the bizarre contraptions that look like they’re straight out of Maxwell Smart’s tool kit.

If your spy travels bring you overseas, head to the Naval Museum Complex in Balaklava, where you walk underground through an old Soviet submarine base. You can see first hand how a submarine could be deployed at a moment’s notice carrying deadly nuclear ordinance.

How about drinking like a spy? At PDT bar in New York you have to pass through a phone booth inside a hot dog restaurant to gain access.
