Hidden Gems: Auckland, New Zealand

Locations in this article:  Auckland, New Zealand

As the largest city in the country, Auckland may be the jumping-off point for many New Zealand adventures, but there’s a lot to explore in the city itself.

The terrain alone is worth experiencing with 30 volcanic hills, twin bays, beaches and coastal islands. And it’s one of the best cities for water sports, especially sailing and fishing.

As is true of many coastal cities, the local cuisine highlights fresh seafood, from fish markets, to seafood restaurants, and even a live food entertainment restaurant with an open kitchen and cameras where you can see the whole process from fillet to entree.

Peter explores it all in his first installment of Hidden Gems: New Zealand, in his adventures through Auckland.
