Joining Travel Discount Clubs

The big travel sales are scarce this summer, but there are bargains to be found if you know where to look. And sometimes, it pays to join the club.

The fact is, travel providers don’t want their discounts to be spread far and wide. So instead they provide deals to a limited list of travelers through members-only sites.

One site is called Jetsetter.com.

You have to be invited by an existing member, or join through various online promotions.

The site features about 15 sales a week, and each one lasts for two days, or until inventory is sold out.

Another one is called Vacationist.com.

If you’re member of its sister site, LuxuryLink, or you subscribe to its partner, Travel + Leisure magazine, you’re in.

Otherwise, you can send an email to request membership, or follow them on Facebook or Twitter for opportunities.

TabletHotels.com is another one. These guys sell boutique hotel bookings to the general public, but also launch two-day “private sales” every Tuesday to the member list.

To join, you have to be invited by an existing member, OR book a hotel through the site just one time.

So, you see, it’s not that hard to get into the club–you just have to show that you’re a dedicated traveler who’s going to take advantage of the deals being offered.
