Instead of just drinking at the hotel bar, why not get involved with a hands-on experience? Several hotels are now offering mixology classes so you can bring home skills for your next cocktail party.

If you’re traveling with a group, head to the Hotel Monaco in Seattle, where for $60 a person, bartenders teach guests how to make five different martini cocktails.

Guests will take home a custom recipe booklet and souvenir Sazerac cocktail shaker.

Even those on a diet can enjoy cocktail or two.

The three female bartenders at The Liberty Hotel in Boston have crafted the hotel’s Sleek Cocktail list comprised of cocktails under 150 calories.

Every Friday, they teach guests how to make these calorie-conscious cocktails.

Chicago’s famous Blackstone Hotel regularly offers mixology classes including Make Your Own Sangria, where guests can learn about wine and infusions and create a unique flavor of Sangria.

The cost? $35 per pitcher.

The 100-year-old US Grant Hotel in San Diego offers mixology classes every Thursday at 4 p.m. for $20.

The Signature Sours class provides tips on how to make sour mix at home and then make seasonal beverages.

And you can cool off with bartending classes with the Desert Icebreaker Package at the Fairmont Scottsdale.

The package includes a one-night stay, a 60-minute Mixology Master Lesson, and most important, a Bloody Mary breakfast the next day.
