Just last week, Google announced that it will provide free Wi-Fi at 47 participating airports between now and January 15.

The company had already agreed to provide free wireless on all Virgin America flights during the same time period.

Officials from eBay hope Thanksgiving travelers will use the opportunity to get ahead on their holiday shopping. When passengers log on to the service, they will be directed to eBay’s Web site, but it is not mandatory to make a transaction.

The saying goes “never look a gift horse in the mouth,” but the fact still remains that many travelers can’t help but see these partnerships and wonder why they should have to pay for wireless Internet access the other 11 months of the year.
