Las Vegas stripThis weekend, Peter is broadcasting from The Venetian Resort, Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Of course, Vegas is a food-lover’s delight, teeming with restaurants both on and off the Strip, from Michelin-starred fine dining to hole-in-the-wall finds.

Another great option is Iron Chef Kerry Simon’s restaurant Simon in the pool and spa tower of the Palms Place Hotel & Spa Las Vegas.

Sushi Samba in the Palazzo because it offers an incredible combination of Japanese and Brazilian cuisines.

The combination wine store and restaurant Marche Bacchus French Bistro & Wine Market located along Lake Jacqueline in Desert Shores, just about 10 minutes off the Strip.

Le Cirque in the Bellagio Hotel and Casino offers the most romantic dining experience.

Settebello Pizzeria NapoletanaFar off The Strip in the town of Henderson, Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana has the best pizza in town.

Lotus of Siam on East Sahara Avenue is one of the great Thai restaurants in the country.

T-bone steakBeef lovers should try Mario Batali’s Carnevino Italian Steakhouse in The Palazzo Las Vegas where they serve dry-aged steaks, some as long as eight months.

Los Antojos is a great hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, located on South Eastern Avenue.

Raku Charcoal Grill is a tiny izakaya (Japanese-style bar and restaurant) that was nominated for a James Beard Award this year.

Thomas Keller’s Bouchon at the Venetian, for its breakfast and brunch.

In fact, it’s my favorite breakfast place in the city. My oldest daughter just loves Mon Ami Gabi at Paris Las Vegas and we order the same thing every time we go.

It’s right across from the fountain show at Bellagio so the view is also great.

Via Brasil Steakhouse is off the strip in Summerlin and is an all-you-can eat Brazilian steakhouse. They have about 18 different kinds of meat they serve you tableside plus a really nice salad bar.

Chef Andre Rochat of Andre’s is a dear friend and we just loved original place in downtown Las Vegas, but sadly it closed this year—so we go to his place inside the Monte Carlo instead.
