Travel Flash Sales

You’ve heard of one-day sales for clothes or even washing machines—but one-day sales for travel? Flash sales can save you some money … but you have to be ready to pounce.

In theory, a flash sale is just a good deal that’s available for a limited time. But more often than not, it’s a VERY limited time. As in, 24 hours or less.

Recently, the Web site LastMinuteTravel.com offered 15,000 hotel rooms for $1 night.

The catch? It was only available 15 minutes a day, and you had to figure out when through clues.

Luxury travel provider Abercrombie and Kent recently slashed its prices by 60 percent for one day, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Annoyed about missing these deals?

The best way to stay on top of them is to sign up for email alerts.

Check out sites like Travelzoo.com and CheapCaribbean.com.

Hotels.com drops its prices by up to 40 percent every Tuesday.
