It’s one thing to be creatively inspired on vacation, but what if your hotel actually has an artist on staff to help you out?

The historic Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee is known for its extensive Victorian art collection but its new artist-in-residence program features the work of a local artist whose studio is actually in the hotel.

The Ojai Valley Inn and Spa has an artist in residence who offers hands-on experiences for guests.

She oversees the Artist’s Cottage, where guests can try their hand at watercolor painting or even perfume- making under her guidance.

Check out the Eden Rock Hotel on the Island of St. Bart’s.

Here, well-known painters take up residence and offer hands-on art lessons for kids.

And at the Proximity Hotel in Greensborough, South Carolina, the walls are filled with the works of a local artist.

You can take a tour to see his charcoal sketches, and the good news is you don’t have to go far to meet the artist.

His studio is right across the street.
