Street Food in the USA

Locations in this article:  Los Angeles, CA Portland, OR San Francisco, CA

Maybe you’ve heard about the great street food in Asia, but you know what? You don’t have to travel that far to experience it. We’ve got some great stuff right here in the U.S.

You might already expect New York to have great roadside food—after all, you can’t walk through Times Square without bumping into a hot dog or falafel cart.

The same goes for Los Angeles and its taco trucks.

But did you know that in LA you can get Korean barbecue to go?

The Kogi truck changes location every night, and lets its followers know via Twitter.

On the island of Oahu, they have shrimp trucks.

Head up to the North Shore, and you’ll run into Giovanni’s. It serves fresh Hawaiian shrimp covered in butter and garlic for just a few bucks.

In San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf, instead of ordering clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, stop by Tanguito—an Argentine food truck that serves empanadas!

And in Portland, Oregon, there actually several food carts stationed throughout the city….including a Bosnian food cart.

It’s called Ziba’s Pitas, and trust me, the locals love it.
