Travel Tip: Helpful Travel Planning Web Tools and Online Resources

Airplane Flying HighThese days, most of us have learned to rely on the Internet to help plan our travels and in response, some websites are giving travelers even more information to help you make better choices.

Have you heard of Yapta.com?

It’s a site that tracks airfares and alerts you when the price goes down.

Now they’ve added hotels to the mix.

While traditionally the website Trip Advisor has been known mostly for user generated reviews, they’ve recently gotten into the airline game.

You can book tickets, and the site gives a free estimator, so there are no surprises in terms of fees.

That includes estimated fees for checking in bags, food and beverages, depending on your frequent flyer status.

Then there’s fly.com.

This is a meta-search engine which searches several airlines and booking sites to compare fares, but a new calendar feature compares airfares on various dates.

So what are all these new bells and whistles saying about online travel sites?

People are still traveling and if there are ways to make it easier, faster, and cheaper, well, competition says it all.
