Great Travel Web Sites for Searching for Travel Deals

CNBC logoSo if you know that there are travel deals out there, how exactly do you find them?

Well, you’re in luck.

Peter put together a list of his favorite travel Web sites for saving money on travel and told CNBC’s On the Money host Carmen Wong Ulrich all about them.

The clip’s not embeddable, but you can watch the clip here.

We’ve summarized Peter’s list of his top travel Web sites below.

Zonder.com: There are plenty of Web sites that offer alternatives to hotels, from apartment rental sites to vacation home management companies or even private villas. But Zonder.com distinguishes itself by only including properties with an on-site manager, an aspect you’ll really appreciate if something goes wrong with your accommodations.

Yapta.com: Yapta has long specialized in new ways of letting people know about travel deals, but one of the best new features of Yapta is that it will now search for frequent flier seats and alert you if one opens up on a route you’d like. You can also track prices on specific routes.

TripIt.com: If you need one online place to organize all of the various aspects of your travels, TripIt is a very helpful clearinghouse for doing this.

BedandBreakfast.com: Just what it sounds like, a comprehensive listing of B&Bs around the world. If you like B&Bs, this is a great site for hotel searches.

LuxuryLink.com: It’s where the well-heeled go when they want a good deal on high-end travel, like first-class airline tickets and luxury hotel stays.

AirfareWatchdog.com: This site is heavy into the user-generated content, thanks to thousands of users who talk (and post) travel deals. If you’re looking for hidden deals and pricing errors, they often turn up here first.

OneTime.com: It searches many major travel sites at one time, making it easier to comparison shop.
