When to Book a Cruise

A lot of people want to know, when is the best time to book a cruise? If you know where you want to cruise and on which ship, book as far ahead as possible.

Alaskan cruises sell the fastest, about nine months in advance, especially for July and August.

But off-peak sailings in May and September won’t run out so quickly.

For Caribbean cruises, peak months are also in July and August, and these cruises usually sell out about seven months in advance.

But if you’re flexible, you can find last-minute Caribbean cruises from September to early December, and after the holidays.

Heading to Europe? Book at least eight months in advance for summer cruises.

Not many cruises sail to Europe in the low season, but here’s a tip: Norwegian Cruise Lines now sails to the Mediterranean in January and February.

And, if you’re flexible, just wait for a deal to show up: Web sites like cruisebrothers.com and lastminutecruises.com often have discounts up to 75 percent off.
