Economical Golfing

Golf can be an expensive hobby, but there are ways to play close to the premier courses without paying premier course prices.

You may have heard of the Master’s Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, where it costs several hundred dollars just to watch the tournament for a half day.

But less than 18 miles away is the Bartram Trail in Grovetown, where tee time costs $33 on weekends.

St Andrew’s in Scotland is a world-renowned course, where fees can cost you a whopping $260 in the high season. But just 10 miles away is the Crail Golfing Society. Here, visitors can tee off for about $100 on weekdays, and about $120 on weekends.

And while there are unbeatable views at Pebble Beach, the $500 price tag can certainly be beat at the Bayonet & Blackhorse Golf Club. It’s only 10 minutes away, will cost you a maximum of $128, and it comes with ocean views.
