Frequent Flier Miles Take You to Space?

You’ve probably heard of the new space tourism companies that will take passengers into space for $200,000 or so.

Here’s how you might be able to do it—for free.

Frequent fliers use their miles for flights, upgrades, and all sorts of perks, but now those miles can take you somewhere few have gone before—into space.

If you have frequent flier miles on Virgin Airlines, you could potentially use them for a ticket into space aboard Virgin Galactic.

Of course, you’ve got to have two million miles to get a ticket.

American Express also offers space flights through the Space Adventures company, but you’ll need a lot more miles to get a flight through them. How many?

Try twenty million points.

But they also offer zero-gravity flights for a million points, or “edge of space” flights in Russian MiG for three million points.
