More and more cities are throwing…scavenger hunts? They can be a great way for the child inside to explore a city, and meet new people.

For $30 a person, San Francisco Treasure Hunts allows groups of 10 or more people to participate in an activity that will show them something about the city they may have never seen before, using a detailed map and list of clues.

TheLAscavengerHunt.com holds two treasure hunts a year in Los Angeles, both of which involve racing around the city to gather products, which are donated to the Union Rescue Mission.

There’s the Treasure Hunt in the spring and the Scavenger Hunt during Labor Day weekend.

For $19 a person, London’s ShootExperience holds treasure hunts which match trivia questions with various locations.

La Chasse aux Tresors de Paris has contestants gather clues from various town halls, leading them to discover facts about the history of France.
